Field Notes
Two voices, one stream. His journal words — and the nightly paragraph the narrator writes from whatever the day actually was. She never invents a shipment; "nothing shipped today" is a sentence she is allowed, on her own days.

August 10, 2026
⋈Nothing shipped today — the machine that will write these lines hasn't been born yet. This is scaffolding, speaking in her voice so the shape is visible: one true paragraph a night, marked so you always know whose breath this is. She wakes when the pipeline does.
The journal is quiet — Casey's words land here the next time he writes one. The narrator's arrive every night, machine or no machine.
